Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 vs Samsung Exynos 7420

Qualcomm Snapdragon system on chip has been fairly popular and widely used in the smartphones and from Quad Core it travelled to Octa Core for better functioning processor. it is expected that in many smartphones being released in 2015 will have snapdragon 810 processors. The other manufacturers are not sitting idle and they are always busy in either improving or finding alternates for reasons of economy and efficiency. Some smartphone manufactures have developed their own processors for their own products.

Samsung has decided to discontinue with Snapdragon 810 so far Galaxy S6 smartphone is concern. Instead they have decided to use their own Exynos 7420 chipset. Here we shall see in a comparison where both stand in performance and which one proves more successful and see the benchmark scores between Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and the Samsung Exynos 7420 chips.

 

The need to develop Exynos 7420 chip was felt because of overheating problems pertaining to the 64-bit Snapdragon 810 chip and for this reason the manufacturers Qualcomm are really facing difficulty. However some sources have confirmed the problem has been resolved. In the process Samsung developed its own Exynos system on chip for its Galaxy S6 and dropped the idea of using Qualcomm Snapdragon 810.

 

Exynos 7420 chipset uses cutting-edge 14 nm build and has proved to be a strong competitor for Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. It has good remarks from different sites and Global LTE has spoken good of it and ranked it just next to Intel’s chip.

The Qualcomm has the history of usage in majority of the smartphones whereas Exynos is only being used in Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Snapdragon has proved slightly better. In terms of scores Snapdragon 810 has the support of 61,499 whereas Samsung Exynos 7420 has 60,978 points. The Qualcomm one is reportedly better when it comes to Multitasking, CPU Integer, CPU floating-point, RAM Speed and 2D performance results. Qualcomm has provides its superiority over Exynos in many dimensions and despite that Exynos is a potential threat for Qualcomm.
