New Chipset range presented by Qualcomm
Qualcomm is one of the leading smartphones chipset manufacturers. Recently the company faces some overheating problem on their latest Snapdragon 810 chipset which is going to be the part of biggest upcoming handsets like Galaxy S6, Xperia Z4 and LG G4. Now Qualcomm is busy to resolve this issue in their chipset and overcome again with these handsets. Recently company releases the new range of chipsets which is designed for mid-range handsets, but they have some features like high-end chipsets. Stated below are the series of chipset with their specs sheet.
Snapdragon 415 and Snapdragon 425
Qualcomm added two new members to 400 family lines. The members known as 415 and 425. These are the octa core chipset. Each chipset is made up with eight Cortex-A53 cores which are based on a 28nm manufacturing process. Both chipsets are based on ARM architecture which indicates that the chipsets are 64 bit processing sportive.
In the account of GPU (graphical processing unit), both chipsets are combines and compactable with Adreno 405 GPU and easily compensate the display which have 1200 x 1920 pixels resolution. The SD415 comes with X5 LTE up to 150Mbps download speed/50Mbps upload speed and the SD425 flaunts an X8 LTE modem beefier at 300Mbps maximum download speed; 100Mbps upload which is the well enough data transferring speed.
Snapdragon 618 and Snapdragon 620
These chipsets belong to the 600 chipset line of Snapdragon. They both are the first chips to embedded with new Cortex-A72 cores and according to ARM the Cortex-A72 processor deliver double performance in comparison with Cortex-A57 processors which pointing out towards that the new chipset is near to the Snapdragon 805 and Snapdragon 810 in performance.
The Snapdragon 618 is a 64-bit hexa-core chipset, which makes four Cortex-A53 cores sing in concert with two Cortex-A72 ones in a big.LITTLE ensemble. The exact GPU is not confirmed yet for these chipsets, but Qualcomm says that they will be packed with new Aderno GPU which is expected to be the Adreno 500 GPU. The Snapdragon 618 covers 4K video recording and hardware decoding easily and the chipset can power displays which have the resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels.
The Snapdragon 620 is comes with eight cores – four Cortex-A72 ones and four Cortex-A53 ones, once again indicate under the big.LITTLE architecture. The remaining specs of the chipset are similar to the Snapdragon 618 – 2K internal display support, 4K recording and playback, as well as a next-generation Adreno GPU. Both of these chipsets also sports X8 LTE modems, which means that users can enjoy download speeds of up to 300Mbps and upload ones of no more than 100Mpbs. Users can also attach these new chips with camera sensors that are no larger than 13MP in size.
These new generations of chipsets from Qualcomm are supposed to be used in next generation high-end smartphones.
