SMS has been and still is a great facility for messaging; may it be for business or just chatting in leisure time and keeping touch with your loved ones. However many love affairs have flourished through medium. Expanding it further, with Android 4.4 KitKat, Google has replaced it with new app ‘Google Hangouts’. No doubt the SMS app will stay intact but Google has brought alternate messaging app. Android being a versatile operating system provides more flexibility in adopting other alternatives for SMS. All users have different reaction to this new app but everyone has a choice. They are briefly described below, may be you would like to try them and like some and use them as your future messaging medium.
We have searched our some messaging apps that do SMS, chats, email, audio and video conferencing. Some are free and offer complete functionality while some others are paid apps.
‘Appear.in’ is browser-based simple app. Go to website at http://appear.in. Create your conversations room by entering a name for it. Copy the link and send it to conversation partner(s); they click the link, and will appear in conversations room created by you. Sharing this link is enough, no registration or download required. This app uses Person to Person (P2P) communication is secure because nothing is saved on a server.
‘vLine’ is just similar to appear.in. It is free and supports multi-party chats. It is again through the browser.
‘Slack’ is another wonderful app offering complete solution for group communication offering everything:
Multi-party chat with photos and videos;
sync across different devices;
cloud storage integration;
notifications, remembering conversation history and,
Searching inside messaging threads; file manager.
This wonderful app is free of cost for any duration with unlimited participants.
‘HipChat’ is equally good alternative to both Google Hangouts and Slack. It features:

256-bit SSL encryption, 150+ emoticons, Secure Guest Access with complete control over what your guests are seeing, and
Compatible with cross-platform with Mac, Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS.
Hall is another useful app generally used by the companies such as Amazon and JC Penney, for:
including group and private chat support,
sync across devices, encryption of data to and from the Hall cloud,
For personal use it is free, for business it will cost $8 per month.
Others include ‘Telegram’, ‘WeChat’ and more. Each one of them has its own useful features.
