Curved Display New Innovation
Presently when everyone owns a smartphone, the companies are trying to produce devices with wild and strange features to make it away from the normal and distinguish it from others.
This is a new innovation in the mobile phones to have the curved display in place of flat screens. Making the screens in curved shape is based on some research and experience. Samsung Galaxy Round is the first one to have curved display and this is most outstanding feature in this smartphone. They believe the curved screen fits better to natural contours of face; however curvature in small screens do not seem to be making much of difference. They give the same feel as the flat screen gives.
There is another point of view; the curve makes the device manageable better. Giving the example of phablets, with flat make, are manageable with two hands but with curve, say, like LG G Flex feels easily manageable and more comfortable in the hand and does not give you the feel of being very big while holding it. While you are busy in working and constantly looking at the screen, you really forget the screen is curves and not flat. The curved screen does not mean it is curved on the back and will start rolling; it is flat and sits well on the table.
In the smartphone series, Samsung has taken the lead in producing a smartphone with a curved OLED display. It has 5.7-inch 1080p screen but with a difference it is curved on the vertical axis.
What effect this round display will have, is yet unknown, but from the view of Samsung it is “Round Interaction,” you can see many information like missed calls, battery life, and the date and time on the flat screen while switching off the round one but you can come easily back to main curved screen without any break and delay.
Here is another example of curves screen; it is LG’s latest and fresh arrival Android phone, the G Flex, a big 6-inch curved screen and more important and strange is its back that has self healing quality from scratches.
The curved screen are a new look but LG had to compromise with resolution. To sum up the curved screen doesn’t make any difference but only to give it a different look and adds an interesting and aesthetic value to the handset.
