From ordinary cell phones to smartphone is a big leap in technology and things are moving even farther without any ultimate in sight. However with smartphones, there have been complaints about camera. May be too many features have been stuffed into it. The common complaint is about faded or blurry pictures taken by these cameras. Two reasons are contributory to this complaint; shutter speed or time required to pass the light and make an image and the other, movement of the user’s hand.
HTC engineers have found the solution to the first; they have made the image capturing time much shorter; 1/48 of a second, as compared to 1/30 of a second as previous. This feature has been tried and installed in HTC One X (2012). It is a big development and the results are much better; sharper and clearer.
For the second problem regarding shaky movement of hand has again been taken care of by the HTC by installing a physical optical image stabilizer (OIS) on the new HTC One system. HTC has installed dedicated imaging gyroscope that minutely detects the movement cause to the camera and resultantly the lens moves physically moves in opposite direction to counter the effect. Imaging gyro has given better results than digital stabilization used in other devices produced by the rival manufacturers. This reduces the resolutions and slows down the picture taking time or the shutter speed is reduced.
HTC engineers have done a big job by introducing this gyroscope; it moves on two axis; horizontal and vertical (pitch and yaw) and can adjust the camera at an incredible speed; 2000 times per second which a camera with optical image stabilizer cannot do. It is really surprising to see this performance of technology.
The research has solved this problem and HTC takes a lead in this field. They have combination of factors employed in solving this issue. They are”
Hypersensitive UltraPixel Sensor,
High-frequency Optical Image Stabilization,
Faster shutter speed, and
Large f/2.0 aperture
These factors have not only enhanced the picture quality of still objects but also the video quality of fast moving objects as well. Now this complaint is nowhere audible.
Enhancing the shutter speed, that is from slow to fast like, 1/48 of a second is an important improvement. The issue of shaky movement of hand in case of video has been resolved by 2-axis OIS in operation. This produces much better results and the users feel more satisfied and enjoy this feature of their handset and more of the camera installed in it.
