Android ' L' have been announced
Google is step wise moving forward in case of Android L; to the developers it will be given access first and later will be made available to users. It will not take long but will happen soon. Google has unveiled many secrets in this respect and have opened up for common knowledge. There will be many small improvements in new Android version.
Some developments in Android L have been announced in keynote on Google I/O conference; battery saver mode with Project Volta to save the battery and enhance its life and Android real time compiler that gives you more speed and saves the space on your device enabling you to get bigger files in less time and space.
There are other features too like the USB audio to connect external audio devices that bypass the phone’s built-in DAC. Though it was not focused particularly in the keynote, but will however appeal to audiophiles. It is only the Android; the Apple is also working on the same lines with USB audio solution of its own. It is reported that Apple is busy in preparing a new type of headphones with better quality audio.
The other area of Android L improvement is in color improvement that may satisfy the photo enthusiasts and these improvements may show up in better calibration of smartphone display. Others include delicate, profound developments as Native Development Kit (NDK) for media APIs, to make media playback much better and make media players more sophisticated.
There is a long list of improvements that Google enlisted as little features of Android L. they were just listed and shown quickly in the slide show leaving you lost in thinking about them. Only some of them can be mentioned here while the developments are so many and cannot be easily summarized. Burst-mode camera APIs and H.265, NDK media APIs, TV input framework, Low latency audio recording, audio patch-panel, improved AV sync, USB audio and Cast-receiver hardware-assisted hot-word relate to media recording and playback. ART, 64-bit trusted execution environment is for speed and space saving. The battery saving and preserving the battery will be though Volta, improved battery stats, predicted time remaining, battery historian and Battery Saver mode, time to charge, time on lock screen.
It is stunning for a common user to hear and know about Jobs Scheduler, multi-network, Bluetooth 4.1, BLE central and peripheral modes, HFP 1.6 SAP, multi HFP, Map Email and yet many more.
It will be difficult for a user to feel excited about some and leave others. They are all so wonderful ‘L’ittle features of Android L. Just wait and see what all is there in store for you from Android.
